Battle Ground Healing Arts & Amp; Apothecary – Community Outreach Assistant 18/19

Effective Date: July 2, 2018

NUNM Department or Location:
Battle Ground Healing Arts - Battle Ground, Washington

This position involves helping to run the Healing Arts Apothecary at Battle Ground Healing Arts, as well as special community outreach projects involving marketing, dovetailing with existing community services organizations, and helping to create, promote, and hold quarterly events, free clinics, courses, public lectures, and related projects.

The position requires good herbal skills and the ability to help maintain inventory and fill patient prescriptions.  The position will also involve computer work to help with website content, creation of brochures and marketing materials, and some interfacing with local community service agencies such as the WIC office, Food Bank, and Women’s shelter.  Some computer work can be completed at home, but the bulk of the work will be on the premises of Battle Ground Healing Arts, and in the community at large.

Priority given to those having completed an Apothecary preceptorship, those with Spanish language skills, those with a strong interest in herbal medicine, gardening, food as medicine, and cooking classes, and those who may wish to join our practice and community in the future and stay on as part of our team. However, all pleasant-natured and hardworking creative students will be considered.
