TriMet Income-Based Assistance Program

Discounted TriMet passes are now available for qualifying students, staff, and community members.

Through TriMet’s Income-Based Assistance Program, eligible riders can purchase passes for just $28 per month—with the first month free. This program helps make public transportation more affordable and accessible for individuals and families with limited incomes.

Who Qualifies

You may be eligible if your gross income (before taxes) is at or below the following thresholds for your household size:

What You’ll Need to Apply

  • Proof of Income (one of the following):
    • Paystubs for the last 30 days
    • Unemployment paystub or benefit letter
    • WorkSource Oregon Employment Wage Verification
    • Most recent tax return*
  • Photo ID

*If you submit a tax return, you will also need to provide your most recent 30 days of income information if your income has changed since filing.
