The Office of Student Life is seeking passionate and committed students to serve as Affinity Group Leaders. These leaders will work together as a small leadership team (3–4 per group) to plan events, foster community, and represent their group within NUNM. Affinity groups are student-led spaces that build connection, support, and advocacy around shared identities, interests, or experiences. Affinity Group Leaders will collaborate closely with:
- Their co-leaders within the group,
- The Student Government Association (SGA) on joint initiatives and events, and
- The group’s staff or faculty sponsor to help guide planning, maintain alignment with NUNM policies, and support group success.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as one of the leaders for your affinity group, sharing responsibilities with your co-leaders.
- Coordinate group meetings, events, and activities.
- Partner with SGA leaders on joint programs, initiatives, and advocacy efforts.
- Work with the group’s faculty or staff sponsor for guidance, mentorship, and institutional support.
- Promote your group’s initiatives through flyers, email, and digital platforms.
- Maintain communication with the Dean of Students and attend regular leadership check-ins.
- Assist with budgeting and tracking expenses for group activities.
- Ensure events and activities are welcoming and inclusive.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled NUNM student with federal work study eligibility.
- Active member of, or strong connection to, the affinity group you are leading.
- Interest in community building, diversity, equity, inclusion, and leadership.
- Reliable, organized, and collaborative.
- Comfortable with public speaking and outreach.
Hours: Approximately 1–2 hours per week, with some evening or weekend events. Hours may vary depending on group activities.
